Welcome to the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) at The University of Toronto.

The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery team at The University of Toronto strives to be a leading faculty in OMFS by teaching future generations of practicing OMF surgeons to be medical experts, communicators, collaborators, leaders, health advocates, scholars and highly professional oral surgeons. We have a strong commitment to the development of knowledge and bettering patient care.

The University of Toronto OMFS faculty are front-runners in patient care, surgical education and research. All of our faculty members have a broad range of surgical expertise in order to best assist our patients.

About Us

Dr Caminiti and Surgical Attendings treat and study complex craniomandibular issues affecting the face, temporomandibular joints and jaws. The team investigates functional, pathologic and post traumatic defects affecting the maxillofacial region. From simple benign soft tissue and boney pathology, to facial reconstruction with digital 3D planning, the scope of management and study is broad. OMFS staff aims to study pathologic processes and the effectiveness of a variety of treatments. Current studies that are being undertaken include: chemotherapeutic treatment of keratocystic tumors, benign cysts management, temporomandibular joint replacement

disc plication, clear aligner orthognathic surgery, maxillary expansion and distraction osteogenesis. Further study on the development and assessment of surgical technical skills continues with the OMFS Objective Structure of Technical Skills Project. Practicing residents and surgeons deliver patient care at the Faculty of Dentistry as well as many hospitals within the greater Toronto area including Mount Sinai Hospital, Humber River Hospital, The Hospital for Sick Children, Sunnybrook Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital.
